The world-first presentation of the extraordinary Jules Verne watches by Louis Moinet took place on Feburary 11th 2010, in the magnificent Espace Jules Verne of the Maison d’Ailleurs (House of Elsewhere), a Swiss sci-fi museum in Yverdon. The Vernoscope, a highly original new concept, was unveiled, and an historical piece – the first prototype to contain an authentic piece of the moon – was officially handed over to the Museum.
Louis Moinet Unveil Vernoscope
This box is 50 cm wide and 50 cm high. With mahogany base highlights, the box spots brass and copper pipes and counters four openings. Apart from an artistic display of moon meteorite particles by artist Jean-Yves Kervevan, the box also showcases four original Number 1 watches.
The Vernoscope will come with watches that have a blue, Havana (brown), silver, and black dial. Each will have a specially decorated automatic rotor that has the appearance of craters on the moon surface. The price for the entire set is $149,485. The Jules Verne Instrument 1 is available in three variants, 60 each in silver and black dials and 12 in a Havana dial. The Jules Verne Instrument 2 is also available in three variants, 60 each in silver and black dials and 12 in a Midnight blue dial.
