Due to a lack of exhibition space at the Geneva Motor Show, the upcoming hypercar Venom GT from Hennessey Performance won’t be appearing next month. Instead, HP will introduce the Venom GT at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK this July, according to an Autoblog report.
The Venom GT is based on the Lotus Elise and Exige, and thus combines a lightweight British chassis with a powerful American V8. The ability opens the prospect of a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with 725 hp. If that’s not enough, you can also opt for a twin-turbo V8 with 1000 or 1200 hp.
Other Ferrari-fighting features include a six-speed Ricardo gearbox, 15-inch carbon ceramic brake rotors, a programmable traction control system, an active aerodynamics system with adjustable rear wing, and massive Michelin PS2 tires.
The regular Hennessey Venom GT is expected to be priced about $600k. Hennessey plans to establish a network of Venom GT dealers and distributors in the Middle East, Europe, Russia, Australia and Asia. Production is limited to just 10 vehicles per year and the company already has orders for 4 Venom GT’s.
