Ahoy, mateys! Have you even fancied sailing the seas, Jack Sparrow-style? Then be informed that Johnny Depp’s real- life Black Pearl, a super luxury yacht called the Vajoliroja, is now available for charter. The 156-ft yacht, originally called Anatolia, was built in 2001 by Turkish shipyard Proteksan – Turquoise and carries the architectural look of 1930s steam ships. Right after the purchase in 2007 however, Depp sent the yacht to three different shipyards for refitting, the last of which involved a major interior styling by world renowned designer L.M. Pagano.
The Vajoliroja can house 10 guests and a crew of 8. It has a formal dining room, outdoor seating areas, a master suite, four guest cabins, built in walnut cabinets with the star’s personal library and paneling of Honduran mahogany. Packed with high-tech perks, the boat provides Wi-Fi Internet access, entertainment systems, satellite television, and iPod, PlayStation 3, Wii docking stations. It is also equipped with gears for windsurfing, waterskiing, wakeboarding, and snorkelling for the pleasure of activity-hunting guests. The yacht is powered by a twin 480hp Caterpillar engine that can deliver a cruising speed of 12 knots.
Cruising in the Mediterranean this coming summer or in the Bahamas and the Caribbean in winter will cost anywhere between $120,000 and $150,000 per week.
