Great Britain has long been home to many excellent high-end audio companies, including Chord Electronics. One of its newest offerings is the CPA8000, Chord’s ultimate 2-channel preamp.
Chord CPA8000 – 2-channel Preamp
Looking a retro-cool, the CPA8000 incorporates a dual-mono design with separate, isolated power supplies for each channel, which helps bring the noise floor down to –135dB. Not only that, the THD is spec’d at an extremely low 0.002% from 20Hz to 20kHz. The input apparatus has four balanced and four unbalanced pairs, along with three balanced and three unbalanced output setup.
Also available is a separate balanced AV Bypass input that avoids the volume control so it can be fed directly to an external A/V processor. Chord’s CPA8000 is in a big, shiny chassis made from what appears to be aluminum and it has front panel controls. The controls give independent adjustment over left and right channel frequencies. A balance knob and volume control are also on the front along with VU meters for both channels and a multi segment input readout.
Of course, high-end audio at this level doesn’t come cheap—the Chord CPA8000 carries a price tag around $50,000. But if 2-channel audio is your thing, it’s likely to strike the right chord.

Skip Hop Studio Diaper Tote Handbag is awesome. So a lot of pockets – and not really these little, worthless pockets, either. All of the actual storage compartments tend to be a excellent dimension and actually help maintain everything organized. The handles are a fantastic length and fit nicely over the actual shoulder; the handle shoulder straps additionally stay place on my own shoulder, which is essential as soon as you’re carrying a child. The bag appears wonderful, too. Not as well fancy, but not too casual. (I have it in black) The material is soft (can’t feel of a much better word) so it is effortless to squeeze in to tight spaces – but yet it’s sturdy. I’ve a Fleurville Lexi carrier and I adore it, too, but this bag is kind of rigid. I feel that Skip*Hop can turn into my everyday bag. It’s a bit substantial – so if you’re not in to big hand bags this may perhaps be much better as an over-night baby diaper handbag.
