In response to unprecedented customer demand, Aston Martin has confirmed that the V12 Vantage – the most potent production sports car in the marque’s 96-year history – will be made available in North America. Officially announced for sale in the Americas, the V12 Vantage will first launch in the form of the Carbon Black special edition later this year.
Well, if you’ve been wondering what this car can do, get a hold of this: 6.0-liter V12 engine producing 510 horsepower, and 420 pound-feet of torque with a top speed of 190 mph and a 0-62 mph time of 4.2 seconds. Not bad. But Aston is also claiming that its newly muscled Vantage is also our most agile model with our most powerful engine, adding that it represents the definitive Aston Martin driving experience.
Aston Martin V12 Vantage gets black paint color, carbon fiber mesh-backed side strakes, 10-spoke alloy wheels, a bright-finish grille and front parking sensors. It will also get a 700-Watt Premium Audio System, bright-finished grille and unique sill plaques. On the outside of the V12 Vantage, minor styling changes to differentiate itself from “lesser” V8 Vantage models, most noticeable of which is the louvered hood. Carbon fiber front and rear air dams, as well as low and lean skirts from Aston Martin Racing round out the package.
According to the automaker, some subtle changes were necessary to the structure of the car in order for it to meet North and South American regulations. In addition to these enhancements, Aston has also announced that it will be adding a new Carbon Black version of the V12 Vantage exclusively for the American market.
Orders are open now, with deliveries coming some time during the fourth quarter of 2010. Pricing will be confirmed in the next few weeks.
