The St James’s Hotel and Club
The St James’s Hotel and Club, whose members have included Sir Michael Caine and Sir Sean Connery, is up for sale . According to London Times, the hotel has been listed for £60 million, by the owners, the Landesberg and Rosenberg families, who had been in possession of the hotel for the past five years. They bought the propery for £20 million and then spent millions on renovations. The result is an elegant destination that includes the fine dining restaurant Seven Park Place. The hotel is currently part of the Althoff group of hotels. The majestic townhouse features black lacquered furniture, handcrafted Murano glass chandeliers, hand-made silk wall-paper and mattresses made from Hypnos.
The Times reports that one possibility for the property is for it to be snapped up by Britannia Hospitality, which recently bought the nearby Stafford hotel, to create one large property.
