But with the menacing Exelero concept remaining exactly that, the Double-M marque has nothing to rival the Bentley Brooklands and Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe. Maybach 57S Coupe by Xenatech
The German engineering firm has teamed up with Daimler to produce a limited edition Maybach coupe to take on its British counterparts. Based on the Maybach 57S, the Xenatech coupe retains the 5.7-meter length but is widened to 86 inches and dropped to stand just 58 inches tall. To assist the car with its wider body, the air suspension has been retuned. Xenatec has also selected new 20-inch wheels to further enhance the coupe’s exterior.
Although the body and appearance look new, the powerplant beneath the hood remains the same with 6-liter twin-turbo V12 engine. But with less weight to move around, the 612 horsepower hustle the big coupe up to 100 kilometers/hour (62 mph) in 5 seconds flat.
Only 100 examples are slated for production – each with a price tag of €650,000 ($800k) – from the firm’s factory in Weinsberg, near Maybach’s own facility in Sindelfingen.
