At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Panasonic is demonstrating one of the biggest plasma displays that we’ve ever clapped eyes on – it’s a massive 152 inches Plasma TV. Those who were seduced by the charms of this large offering can now finally take this baby home as Panasonic has announced, it will begin shipping the 152 inch monster this fall.

The display has a 4096×2160 resolution, which is equivalent to nine 50-inch screens. The aspect ratio is 17:9, and the set is mostly meant for use in work such as 3D CAD work, health care, although it’s also seen as being useful for ultra-luxury home theaters. Just in case 4096 x 2160 is too much resolution, there are 103- and 85-inch 1080p versions available as well.
Several breakthrough technologies enable the 3D displays´ Full-HD images and even improve 2D performance. Panasonic´s 3D ultra high-speed drive technology and new motion prediction technology eliminate crosstalk (ghosting) between left and right images to produce super fine crisp images, and facilitate an overwhelming, near-infinite contrast ratio of 5,000,000:12, around twice the tone gradation of conventional models3, as well as excellent color reproduction.
Color accuracy is an additional focus with a 30-bit processor much like high-end desktop displays. Pro picture quality adjustment lets installers tailor the performance based on the lighting environment. The display has a SLOT 2.0 port that lets viewers equip the set with different interfaces, such as DVI and HD-SDI.
The 4K resolution 3DTV is definitely no bargain, folks who wish to display this TV in their living space will have to fork out over $500,000. Panasonic’s 103- and 85-inch plasma displays will be priced at $65,000 and $45,000 respectively. But who wants these tiny screens when you can afford the 152-inch monster.
