Joya teams up with Brooklyn-based ceramic artist, Sarah Cihat to launch their first fragrance, FvsS. The perfumes will be made available in hand crafted porcelain bottles, sporting perfume wands dipped in 22 carat gold. The design was inspired by the past: cut glass and round perfume bottles. Combining these elements with a love for asymmetry found in nature results in a sheer uniqueness of form. The bottle is small and precious like a soft stone in your hand. There is this inherent warmth. It feels natural to hold.
The first fragrance, called Composition No. 1 comes with citrus top notes which would include Italian mandarin, Brazilian orange, fresh quince scents. The middle notes consist of heliotrope petals, tuberose, jasmine, camellia and Damask rose, while the dry down fragrances include creamy sandalwood, pale musk and a hint of tonka bean.
Composition No.6 on the other hand is inspired with Fujian cypress, juniper berries and tangy yuzu fragrances. The middle notes is made of lotus leaves and blossoms, and a fresh air accord while the dry down consist green meadowgrass, cedarwood, saffron and amber.
