According to the latest reports, it appears that Porsche will price the 918 Spyder at $630,000, which means that the new hybrid supercar from the German manufacturer will be more expensive than the Carrera GT.
The 918 Spyder is one of three hybrid models Porsche presented at the Geneva Auto Show in March and despite its rumored price, reportedly over 2000 customers have shown interest in it. The car is powered by a V8 engine capable to deliver 500 hp but also by two electric motors, one on the front and one on the rear axle with an overall mechanical output of 218 horsepower. This means that the car delivers a total output of over 700 hp which can push the car from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds and a top speed limited electronically to 198 mph.
Although the power output of the Porsche 918 Spyder is enough to start a nuclear power plant, its CO2 emissions are low enough for it to be driven by the Green Peace. It sends out in the atmosphere just 70 g/km.
So, all those hoping to get their hands on Porsche 918 Spyder had better start saving up.
