Perini Navi’s New Luxury Sailing Superyacht
At 289 ft., the amazing Elena Ambrosiadou’s Maltese Falcon is the world’s largest, best designed, and most expensive sailing yacht. For now. Its builder Perini Navi is now hard at work on a much larger sailing megayacht, a 335-ft. craft dubbed the C.2157. Similar is styling to the Maltese, new luxury yacht also has three enormous self-standing, rotating masts and will be equipped with an even more impressive version of Perini Navi’s revolutionary carbon fibrer DynaRig sailing system. Topping the Maltese’s 15 sails and 25,791 sq. ft. sail area, the 335 will be capable of a maximum speed of 19.5 knots despite its impressive size.
Look for the 2,700 ton yacht with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure to equal if not better the Maltese’s 10-day Atlantic crossing time despite her extra 46 feet. There will also be accommodations for more than the Maltese’s 12 guests in the luxurious staterooms in addition to an enormous master suite.
Perini Navi has not disclosed which of the world’s billionaires commissioned the World’s Largest Sailing Yacht, which is expect to cost several hundred million dollars.

Sorry, in my previous comment I should have had five and not three important components that have to be redesigned.
Rob.
To Whom it may concern.
I have had plenty of involvement with design of ships. I am not a qualified engineer but during my working life I was an exceptional draftsman; an innovator and inventor. Now retired and have a lot of time to revisit some of my past projects. One of these projects was an involvement with America’s Cup design for Allan Bond. I had a lot of useful ideas for yachts in general and unfortunately they were of no use to this type of yacht. However, my ideas could be of use to monohulls mega yacht designers simply because my design yacht will sail on an even keel and not like the present mega yachts do. One can hardly understand how does any one pay more than $500K per week to live in luxury on a deck that slants 15 degrees one way or the other 24/7. Yachts can be designed to sail on nearly even keel in nearly all types of weather, but what is needed is different sails complemented by different shape below water line. Total change is needed with three most important components of the yacht: new type of keel, new ship shape below waterline and weather deck together with rudder and sails. In short this new design of yacht could be compared to jet engine and piston type engine simply because they do the same thing but are as different as chalk and cheese. One is game to suggest that Dyna Rig is not the answer.
Is there any one that would be interested in my design, and if so I can provide Provisional Patent documentation for interested party’s perusal in say late January 2011.
Sincerely yours
Rob Helmer.
