Jaguar XKR 175
Jaguar announced that it will reveal, Jaguar XKR 175, a special edition car, celebrating the company’s 75th anniversary, at the McCalls Motorworks Revival at the Montery Jet Center during the Pebble Beach Automotive Weekend.
The Jaguar XKR 175 is powered by a supercharged V8 with 510hp and 461 lb-ft of torque and top speeds raised to an electronically-limited 174mph. To ensure that the Jaguar XKR 175 remains stable at high speeds, a revised aerodynamic package incorporates a new front air dam, new side sills, a new rear diffuser and a larger rear spoiler providing increased balance and a reduction in lift. New 20-inch Kasuga 10-spoke alloy wheels, red brake calipers and Ultimate Black exterior paint adorn the car’s exterior.
From inside the cabin, everyone will stay comfortable in the Warm Charcoal leather, touched up with Cranberry stitching. The wood veneer trim is finished in Piano Black, and series number badging can be spotted on the door sills.
Jaguar XKR 175
The model designation of the 2011 Jaguar XKR175 comes from a combination of the anniversary date and the XKR175 model run being limited to 175 cars, although Canada will get another 15 cars specifically for that market. The XKR175 will be available as a coupe only.
This car complements another 75th-anniversary model, called the XKR 75, which will debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July in England. There are slight differences between the U.S. and Europe versions. Most notably, the car to be sold in Western European markets will be a touch more powerful, with outputs of 530 hp and 483 lb-ft of torque.
Those wanting to buy the car will have to shell out $104,500, which includes the destination charge.
