First Ever Produced McLaren F1
One of the automotive industry’s future iconic vehicles, the first ever McLaren F1 manufactured, is sold for $3,175,000 (2.46 million euros). A huge price, you think? A bargain, given the fact that the car only has 300 miles on the odometer (482 km).
McLaren F1 is powered by a 6.1 liter, quad-cam, 48-valve V12 power unit that produces no less than 627 HP and drives through a bespoke six-speed transaxle gearbox. In March 1998, the F1 laid waste to the then world record for the fastest production car in the world when it topped out at a speed of 240.14mph.
The car is the first production version of the model and was manufactured in 1995. In all, 100 such vehicles were manufactured: 65 street cars, 5 LM versions, 3 GT and the rest GTR racing models.
