Philips Cinema 21:9 Platinum HDTV

Philips’ latest 3D entertainment line-up transforms your home into a 3D real-to-life cinematic experience, putting you into the center of the action. Bringing the ultimate in home cinema entertainment, Philips has now introduced the world’s first cinema proportion 3D TV in the 58-inch Cinema 21:9 Platinum Series at the IFA press conference.
Philips mentions technical features such as the LED Pro system, which is a local dimming system, and the Bright Pro image technology that ensures that very bright elements in the picture are also highlighted to create very high contrast levels. The TV also will use a 400 Hz Clear LCD hat enables Full HD 3D TV capabilities thanks also to the included 3D transmitter, and the Perfect Natural Motion system.
Whilst the 21:9 dimensions lean heavily in the favour of movie content, the new Cinema 21:9 will feature auto formatting technology to ensure than standard dimension broadcast television, games and DVDs all fit the extra wide screen. Ensuring users can absorb all the content they wish, Philips has packed the Cinema 21:9 with Net TV connectivity for online streaming and multi-view technology for picture-in-picture viewing, another world’s first for cinema proportioned televisions.
Due to launch in Europe and Brazil later this month priced €3,999 ($5,150) the Philips Cinema 21:9 Platinum Series TV will roll out across other countries later in the year.
