The Transition – Terrafugia Flying Car
The flying car is coming sooner rather than later. After several years in development, The Transition – Terrafugia’s Flying Car could be available for sale before the end of next year. The Massachusetts-based flying car company, has announced that it is one step closer to putting a road-and-air-going flying car in your driveway. After scouting locations around the world, the company settled on a plant in its hometown of Woburn.
The company announce that production could begin within three months, and that Terrafugia plans to hire 50 skilled workers over a period of three years. Terrafugia is currently building two prototypes of the Transition in the new plant. One is scheduled to go through extensive drive testing, while the other will take to the skies to obtain certification as a light sport aircraft.
Transition Flying Car is expected to initially be priced at between $200,000 and $250,000. The company said it already has accepted refundable $10,000 deposits for vehicles that were expected to be built during the first two or three years of production.
