Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale
Another lovely beauty expected to make an appearance at the Paris Motor Show will be the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale, which Maserati says is the fastest, lightest and most powerful car in the Maserati’s stable. The latest incarnation of the GranTurismo is inspired by the company’s GT4 and Trofeo GranTurismo MC race cars.
Maserati promises the MC Stradale will be the first GT to break the 300 km/h (186 mph) barrier thanks to improved aerodynamics and the power boost. It’s also more agile due to some knowledge sharing between Maserati’s racing program and the designers of the Stradale. It is powered by a 4.2 liter V8 engine that delivers 450 HP – an improvement over the standard 405 HP – while still offering the same fuel consumption as a standard Gran Turismo.
As the pictures reveal, there is now a deeper race-inspired chin spoiler incorporated into the front as well as a new sill design and a new rear spoiler, presenting a tougher, more aggressive look. Because this version is racing-inspired but likely en route to Dubai, it’ll maintain the comfort and luxury of the standard GranTurismo S without the nuisance of the mostly unused backseats.
Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale go on sale in Europe in the first quarter of 2011 with a U.S. launch shortly thereafter.
