Cabasse turned heads when it launched its amazing La Sphere speakers a few years back and now, the French audio manufacturer has announced the Ocean, the new La Sphere succeeding model for 2011. The Ocean 4-way speakers have built-in a new 30 cm woofer with a honeycomb dome diaphragm combined with the TC23, the 3-way coaxial unit of the reference system La Sphere. 4 digital amplifiers from 250 watts to 1000 watts are integrated in the base. They contribute in providing a high 117 dB sound pressure level with no distortion. The electronic unit of both loudspeakers is connected to the CRCS controller with SPDIF digital links.
Each loudspeaker is fitted with a phase linear digital filter. It optimizes the frequency response thanks to precise and variable cross-over slopes (up to 94 dB per octave) and an accurate time alignment allowing to create a true point source system.
The latest entrant to the ever-growing family of high-end luxury speakers, the Cabasse Ocean will start shipping in spring 2011 for $127,000.
