Remora Yacht designed by Claydon Reeves
UK-based Claydon Reeves is a new design company who specializes in creating distinctive, bespoke exterior designs for super yachts up to and over 100 metres. James Claydon and Mike Reeves share 15 years’ design experience and have worked for some of the world’s leading super yacht consultancies.
Claydon Reeves officially launched their new design company at the 2010 Monaco Yacht Show, specialising in yacht exterior design and layout planning. Centrepiece of the stand was their new 80 metre concept motoryacht Remora. Claydon and Reeves have taken inspiration from both naturally occurring forms and contemporary architecture for the external aesthetics. The yacht has a Gaudiesque Sundeck structure and an unconventional spatial layout.
The ultra modern yacht’s interior features enhanced architectural spaces including a double height main deck mezzanine, forward public areas and duplex guest suites. The Owner can enjoy his own private deck, which is located aft of the bridge. Not only a statement of style, the Remora motoryacht is based on a highly developed package utilising a diesel electric propulsion system mated to a pair of azimuthing drive pods.
After receiving considerable interest this year, Claydon Reeves have announced they will unveil a new concept proposal at every Monaco Yacht Show.
