Jaeger-LeCoultre AMVOX2 DB9 Transponder
Beeping a car open in the 90’s was a status symbol for car owners. Remotely locking and unlocking a car in the new millennium, however, has become common. In the tradition of iconic representations that include James Bond, luxury sports car manufacturer Aston Martin has teamed up with Swiss watch visionary Jaeger-LeCoultre to give an all new face to lavish driving.
Third in series following AMVOX2 DBS and Rapide transponder watches, Aston Martin and Jaeger-LeCoultre are pleased to announce the launch of the AMVOX2 DB9 Transponder timepiece which affords the owner of a Aston Martin DB9 the luxury of opening their sports car by simply pressing on the sapphire crystal of their watch. As the driver nears the car, all he need do is press the OPEN position on the watch glass (between eight and nine o’clock) in order to unlock the car, whereas doing the same thing on the CLOSE position (between three and four o’clock) will lock the vehicle.
The Transponder’s face bears a grille-type motif and rhodium-plated metallic numerals coated in black in the center, complementing the dark, traditional look of the gilded watch hands. The gilded DB9 logo is displayed prominently over a window on the center of the watch that allows a peek into the ruthenium mainplate and bridges that facilitate the watch’s movement.
The Jaeger-LeCoultre AMVOX2 DB9 Transponder watch is available to order now from the Aston Martin dealership network priced at $24,400. Of course, owning the watch would logically require owning a DB9 too, and vice versa.
