Is the Aston Martin Rapide a little too plebeian for you? Do you want something more luxurious? If so, prepare to whip out your checkbook as the company has unveiled the Aston Martin Rapide Luxe edition. The Rapide Luxe provides a combination of highly desirable functional features, a greater choice of paint and leather finishes as standard, and unique features including bespoke accessories.
On the outside, the Aston Martin Rapide Luxe edition is available in a range of exterior colors, a bright finish grille and 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza tires. On the inside, the Rapide Luxe edition comes with custom leather upholstery, Walnut wood trim, a rear seat entertainment system a 1000 watt Bang & Olufsen audio system, heated/cooled seats, glass swtichgear and a 6-piece luggage set that matches the interior color.
One of the top features of the interior is represented by a special ventilation system for the front and rear seats. This offers three temperature settings and a rotary control button for each seat. Passengers can enjoy a perforated leather finish for the seat inners. The vehicle also comes with a Rear Seat Enterntainment (RSE) system that uses two 6.5 inch LCD screens, which are integrated in the front seat headrests, a six-DVD changer and a set of wireless headphones.
Like the regular model, power is provided by a 6.0-liter V12 engine with 470 bhp (477 PS / 350 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed Touchtronic 2 transmission which allows the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 5.1 seconds (0-100 km/h in 5.3 seconds) and hit an estimated top speed of 188 mph (303 km/h).
Sadly, the additions don’t come cheap. The Rapide currently starts at £144,950 ($232,550), while the Aston Martin Rapid Luxe model is on sale now at dealers for £157,445 ($252,590).
