Affinity Cycles and Kenzo Minami – Digitizer Track Bike
For a cool $5,000, passionate cyclists can ride the streets in style on the Digitizer Track Bike, an upshot of collaboration between Affinity Cycles and famed Japanese artist Kenzo Minami. Cinecycle curated the project with an aim of producing an item of extreme beauty and quality, which explores the intersection of form, function and design.
The signature Affinity Kissena track frame is the key component of the Digitizer and represents the pinnacle of bicycle frame technology. Kenzo’s inspiration for Digitizer came from this nostalgia of his childhood. However, this inspiration is tempered with a practical purpose. Kenzo Minami further said: The colors and patterns on the bicycle were carefully conceived and laid out with the understanding that they will not only be seen when the frame and wheels are static but more importantly how they will be transformed when the bicycle is in motion.
Affinity Cycles and Kenzo Minami have come together to create a bicycle that expresses how the cyclist, even in our modern digital age, still represents the most simple and effective union of man and machine, says Daniel Leeb, CEO, Cinecycle.
Currently on display at Wired’s NYC store, Only 20 examples of the Digitizer Track Bike with custom graphics have been created and are available through Affinity.
