Harley Custo – One-Off 2010 Harley-Davidson VRSCDX Night Rod Special
The Spanish division of Harley-Davidson recently announced it will auction off a one-of-a-kind VRSCDX Night Rod Special designed by Custo Barcelona on December 21, which will benefit the charitable foundation San Juan de Dios, to expand the resources of its children’s hospital in Sierra Leone. The Harley Custo, a humanitarian project created this year by Harley-Davidson and the designer of the Custo Barcelona brand, will be auctioned off at the Balclis Auction House in Barcelona.
Style for performance-minded enthusiasts the Night Rod Special offers a raw, street-tough attitude, with an all-black Revolution V-Twin engine and blacked-out fork legs, swing arm and other components. The 60-degree Revolution 1250 cc V-Twin is liquid-cooled and features Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection, dual overhead cams, four-valve heads, and a five-speed transmission. The engine is rubber-mounted in a hydroformed steel perimeter frame. A shell covers the large-volume airbox located over the engine. A five-gallon fuel cell is located below the seat on all VRSC models.
The standard Harley-Davidson Night Rod Special retails for $14,699 in the Unites States, and comes available in a variety of color schemes, such as Brilliant Silver Pearl / Black Racing Stripe with ghost Flames, Chrome Yellow / Black Racing Stripe with Ghost Flames, Sedona Orange / Black Racing Stripe with Ghost Flames or Black Denim / Sedona Orange Racing Stripe.
Bidding begins at the starting price of the standard model, €20,450 (US$28,100). The Harley Custo will be displayed at Balclis beginning December 13, or may be viewed at the Balclis’ web site.
