Montblanc Time Walker TwinFly Chronograph
Although established as one of the world’s favourite pen makers, Montblanc has been tapping into a few more subjects for the delight of its fans. Set to be presented at SIHH 2011, the Montblanc Time Walker TwinFly is an automatic chronograph watch. Cased in stainless steel and scratch resistant matt black DLC coating, it measures 43mm and has a sapphire crystal.
Montblanc collaborated with the specialists at the affiliated Manufacture Horlogere Valfleurier, which is also owned by the Richemont Group, to create its own chronograph Calibre MB LL100, a self-winding movement endowed with all the typical attributes of highly evolved horological artistry.
Calibre MB LL100 accordingly supports a large chronograph-hand and a minute-hand from the center, a flyback function, a date window at the 9 o’clock position and a 24-hour subdial at the 12. This last-mentioned little dial shows the time in a second zone and also indicates whether it’s presently day or night there. Another special feature of the new chronograph calibre is its double barrel, which accumulates sufficient power to keep the watch running for approximately 72 hours. The back of the case is equipped with a transparent sapphire crystal so aficionados can feast their eyes on the beautiful movement and its black, finely skeletonized winding-rotor.
The Germany maker of luxury writing instruments plans to sell the Montblanc TimeWalker TwinFly Chronograph watch as a limited edition model. Only 300 pieces will be made and offered to collectors and enthusiasts at an impressive price of €8,950 ($11,900).
