Auto Union Type C e-tron Study
Your junior might not have a driving license, but that doesn’t mean he cannot zip around in an Audi. At the 62nd International Toy Fair in Nuremberg from February 3 to 8, Audi will be showcasing a sweet-looking Auto Union Type C e-tron study. The 1:2 scale toy electric-car is for children but can also fit an adult up to 5’11” (1.80 m).
The prototype vehicle is based on the UKP10,000 (approx. $15,900) limited-edition pedal car model sold through Audi dealers, but adds an electric motor that can propel the vehicle to speeds of up to 18.64 mph (30 km/h). The one-of-a-kind Auto Union Type C e-tron enjoys a hand-finished body made of aluminum and carbon-look material. The toy car gets its power from the electric motor, powered by a lithium-ion battery, delivering 1.5hp (1.12kW) and up to 60 Nm (44.25 lb-ft) of torque.
The lithium-ion battery can be recharged with a 230-volt electrical socket in around two hours. The power is sent to the rear wheels and the study is also equipped with a reverse gear. Depending on how it is driven, the little Audi e-tron has a range of around 15.53 miles.
Audi’s Auto Union Type C e-tron Study would definitely make your kid the envy of the playground if it were ever released.
