Emporioa Armani EA7/Reebok ZigTech
Emporio Armani EA7 have joined forces with Reebok to create a futuristic line of high performance sportswear for Spring/Summer 2011 as a part of their EA7 range. The highlight of the 2011 collection is the debut of the first ever EA7/Reebok ZigTech Sneakers. The Zig-Tech line is Reebok’s line of shoes with distinctive zig-zag soles and this latest iteration is a continuation of the Armani/Reebok partnership which includes activewear and shoes. The whole line has a bit of a sci-fi-meets-sportwear aesthetic.
This high-concept shoe harks to an 80s era sci-fi movie whilst being Reebok’s most technically advanced running and training shoe to date. The Zig-Tech line consists of three athletic styles, two unisex, the EA7 ZigPump and EA7 Ziglace and one woman’s shoe, the EA7 ZigTech Nano, which offers a lower-profile ZigTech sole for style and comfort.
The EA7 ZigPump is the first combination of two of Reebok’s most innovative footwear technologies – The Pump and ZigTech. In a luxurious silver colorway, it includes a velcro strap on the forefoot, providing increased lateral support. A memory foam collar in the shoe lining affords improved fit and comfort. The EA7 ZigLace provides signature ZigTech energy return benefits, but features rear foot TPU cage for added stability and breath-ability. It includes an ultra-thin 4mm EVA tongue sheet liner for reduced weight and optimal comfort. The EA7 ZigTech for Women offers the same technological benefits but on the lower profile ZigTech Nano outer sole, creating a shoe that is both beautifully stylish and functional shoe. The key colorways of this design story are crisp white, winter purple and navy.
The Spring/Summer 2011 apparel line draws its unlikely inspiration from the textured skin of the Great Sting Ray, offering close fitting performance gear where key pieces for Men’s and Women’s include a sleeveless hoodie, fitted running tops and shorts and athletic running tights.
