(Stuttgart – Press Release) Light weight – for decades this has been Porsche’s overriding aim in development, whether for racing cars on the circuit or for sports cars on the road. The same successful concept has been applied to the AluFrame trolley cases. The models in three different sizes (capacity: 42, 51 and 64 liters) only weigh between 4.3 and 4.9 kilograms. The distinctive frame of hand-brushed aluminum gives lightness and stability in all sizes. Aluminum is also the material for the twin-tube telescope handle. Inside, order is created by two adjustable packing dividers with inner pockets. And a TSA safety lock gives protection from third party interference. The AluFrame trolley cases are offered in the Porsche finish “Basalt Black Metallic“ and can if desired be ordered in another attractive color, selected from 23 special shades based on the Porsche finishes – from plain Carrera White, through Speed Yellow to Ruby Red Metallic.
Also available in this color range is the Ultralight Edition. This luggage series is constructed from ultra-light but tough polycarbonate, a material which is used to reduce weight in the RS models of the Porsche GT Series. Thus the 26-liter capacity trolley case suitable for air travel hand luggage (IATA cabin baggage dimensions) weighs only 3.1 kilograms. Its ‘big brother’, with a capacity of 74 liters, weighs a mere 3.9 kilograms. Moreover: the outer measurements of the Ultralight and AluFrame trolley cases are especially designed to ensure that a set will make optimal use of the trunk space in every Porsche model.
The Porsche Design Driver’s Selection Carfit luggage series is tailor-made for business and vacation travel. Constructed from hard-wearing nylon, this series offers various trolley cases in practical sizes, including a pilot case with an inner compartment for laptop and documents. A special aluminum base protector makes them robust and durable. The exclusive design is expressed not only in the metal and leather telescope handle with the Porsche logo, but also in the specially styled rollers, which correspond in every detail to the wheel rim design of the Porsche 911 Carrera S. The Carfit luggage series also has other practical travel companions to offer, ranging from the classic suitcases to a shoulder bag, to the three-part garment bag with a roomy outside pocket and padded shoulder strap.
Lovers of fine leather goods will also find a wide range of exclusive products to choose from in the Porsche Design Driver’s Selection. For instance, a cowhide travel bag in Espresso tone. The same leather is used to create the large Briefcase (44 x 36 x 17 centimeters) with two main compartments and a removable padded laptop sleeve. Sporty design and handy size (40 x 30 x 9 centimeters) characterize the Sport Classic II Briefcase crafted in cervo-structured black calf leather, with silver colored metal fittings bearing the Porsche logo.
Drivers will be ready to go anywhere on four wheels with the useful accessories for the cockpit offered by Porsche Design Driver’s Selection. These include a stainless steel insulated cup with a removable screw closure for safety. It fits into the cup holders of all the Porsche models. The small LED rechargeable flashlight, which fits snugly in the glove compartment, provides high light intensity and long-lasting performance. Loading takes place directly via the cigarette lighter.
When stepping out of the Porsche, a Windbreaker with inner lining offers protection from wind and weather. This item will be available in the fashion program from September. The water-repellent outer fabric is made of 80 percent polyester and 20 percent nylon. The jacket, which has two insert side pockets and a concealed zip, will be available in Macadamia Brown for men with a black Porsche logo on the upper sleeve. The women’s version of the Windbreaker has a feminine cut and comes in Topaz Brown with a white Porsche logo.
If rain showers persist, the XL Umbrella will give additional protection – and it’s big enough for two. It opens automatically and the ergonomically-formed handle with Senosoft finish is ideally pleasant to hold. If something smaller is required, the Car Umbrella S fills the bill. Not only will it fit into any purse, but also into the cubbyhole on the passenger’s door-sill in the 911, Boxster and Cayman.
If the rain is followed by welcome sunshine, Porsche Design Driver’s Selection offers a choice of four different sunglasses. For women, there is a style elegantly framed in black acetate, with metal inserts on the side pieces. Or a sporty shield with narrow bridge and green polycarbonate lenses. This style looks equally good on men, as do the aviator sunglasses with metal frame and grey lenses. Designed just for men: the rimless sunglasses with Anthracite finish metal frame. Like all the eyewear in this collection, they have the Porsche script logo on the left side piece.
