Vicem Yachts – New Vulcan Line Superyachts
Vicem Yachts has released more details about its eagerly awaited Vulcan Line. The three models in this new series, all designed by Frank Mulder, and the award-winning interior design firms of Art-Line Interiors, Wetzels Brown Partners and Ken Freivokh, will be launched in 2011. With new sleek, fast yachts, including a 46m, 35m and 32m for its Vulcan Line, Vicem is undertaking an important business expansion plan and is enlarging its horizons beyond mahogany construction into high-tech composite construction.
In order to produce speeds in the 20 knots plus range and to keep the draft as shallow as possible, Vicem decided on cored fiberglass construction for the series. The first step was joining forces with Dutch naval architect and designer Frank Mulder who has designed many well known fast superyachts worldwide. To utilize the state of the art in fiberglass yacht construction, Mulder specified Core-Cell and Epoxy resin for the entire structure. Core-Cell has the best characteristics of any core material for off gassing, insuring a finished hull and superstructure that can be painted in any color. The hull and superstructure are also post-cured with large heat blankets after lamination, ensuring a fair and smooth appearance with any color.
Integral tank construction was also introduced with the new Vulcan motor yacht series, which provides more internal room for accommodations and the ability to carry more fuel for oceangoing trips at lower speed. Frank Mulder designed fast hulls for this Vicem Vulcan series with a fine entry for rough sea conditions that are also very fuel efficient at slow displacement speeds. RINA certification was always available on Vicem Yachts. On the Vulcan series RINA and MCA are part of the project, which brings Vicem to a new level for offshore cruising and chartering.
The Vulcan Line yachts are currently under construction in a state-of-the-art facility in Antalya, Turkey, using composite materials, applied with resin and sandwich techniques, which are chosen to achieve the best possible strength-to-weight ratios. Vulcan 46 M Motor Yacht
With this 46 meter yacht, Vicem decided to enter into the composite mega-yacht segment without making compromises. With the assistance of outstanding design firms such as Frank Mulder for exterior and naval architecture, and Art Line for the interiors, Vicem set out to build a 46 meter semi-displacement yacht which is lighter and faster than the industry standard, achieving 25 knots as top speed, while maintaining high-efficiency cruising and long range capability of 4,000 Nm at 12 knots, thus creating an extremely versatile ship. Art-Line Studio designed the Vulcan 46m interior, bringing a new definition to the word luxury.
A 460 ton yacht, powered by twin 3,650 HP MTU engines, delivers efficient ocean crossing range at reduced speed. Her three decks plus Sun-deck design provides outstanding elegance for the knowledgeable owner, and six cabins of thrilled guests. The Vulcan 46 M Motor Yacht’s signature open atrium design provides 45 feet of unbroken natural lighting, from the very top of the Sun-deck all the way down to the Lower Deck. The main deck’s Master Suite uses every inch of this yachts’ 30 foot beam, and includes a CEO’s office and a private gym. A graceful wraparound entry way leads to an inviting Jacuzzi and an arcing full width head. Farther aft is the galley, a dining area for ten, and a relaxing lounge and a spacious upper lounge area. Its impeccable construction and craftsmanship, thanks to Vicem’s internal team of 400 specialized craftsmen and the RINA/MCA Long Range classifications, make this mega yacht a very serious contender in today’s mega-yacht arena.
Vulcan 35 M Motor Yacht
When designing the 35 meter yacht, Vicem wanted to incorporate spaces and volumes found in much larger tri-deck motor yachts in a 35m hull. Another Frank Mulder design, this tri-deck provides excellent quality of life on board for up to 12 guests and is certified for RINA Short Range Charter Class. Offering a top speed of 21 knots, the Vulcan 35m can reach a range of 1,600nm at 12 knots whilst maintain exquisite levels of comfort for guests onboard.
Featuring a Ken Freivokh design throughout, the Vulcan 35m provides guests with five staterooms (6 cabin layout also available), including a full-beam master suite and two full-beam VIP staterooms. The generous exterior spaces on three decks are complemented by a beach pad that appears from the drop down stern garage, allowing guests to fully enjoy their rest and relaxation by the sea. There is a captain’s cabin on the main deck and two double crew cabins with a lounge and galley in the crew quarters. Tenders are hidden in the foredeck (to achieve a sleek exterior look) and there is additional garage storage at the transom.
Vulcan 32 M RPH motor Yacht
Frank Mulder’s idea was to create a sleek and sinuous yacht line without compromising interior spaces, which on unit n°1 will be designed by Wetzels Brown Partners. The raised pilot house configuration of the Vulcan 32 M motor yacht provides excellent main deck spaciousness and the owner can enjoy a standard master cabin forward on the main deck while the VIP guests have a full beam suite below decks. The exterior sporty profile complements a dynamic boating lifestyle. However, the vessel can achieve a range of 1,350 Nm while navigating at a fin-stabilized speed of 12 knots, all within RINA Short-Range Charter class certification. The Vicem Vulcan 32m is a raised pilothouse design uniquely featuring easy access to the foredeck both from the boat deck on the port side and the main deck on the starboard side, creating a full beam on-deck master stateroom. In addition to five guest staterooms, the yacht has two crew cabins, with access from the galley, and all have en-suite heads. The main tender is on the flybridge deck and there is room for two personal watercrafts in a transom garage.
