Bent Guitar Tables by Phil Daniels
Phil Daniels had idea of bending a guitar to make an artistic table in 2006. He had found the inspiration in Dali melting clocks.
He used special woods, like beautifully figured quilted maple, bird’s eye maple, curly maple and flame birch. The bent guitar table body is laminated, cut and formed, then sanded to bring out the beautiful grain of the wood. Phil purchased nice guitar necks and tuners that match the style of the guitar. He used dichroic and iridescent glass, and all types of different coloured wood for the inlays. The inlays simulate the knobs, pick guard, pickups and bridges.
For some of the legs he used walnut and simulated a leather strap laying on the floor and finished with multi coats of high gloss lacquer. Than he put gold sparkle in the first coat of lacquer.
These unique tables are modeled after instruments like the Gibson Vintage Flying V and the Fender Precision Bass. There is even a Gibson Les Paul and a Stratocaster! You can custom order a bent guitar table in the style and finish of your choice. [Hart Furniture]
