Breitling Chronomat GMT – Dual Time Zone Watch
Breitling’s new Chronomat GMT lets you adjust instantly to the time and date on your arrival while maintaining a 24-hour home-time display without losing any precision in counting the minutes. Provided the latest Breitling Caliber 04, entirely developed and manufactured in the workshops of the mark, the Chronomat GMT is also one of the rare chronographs provided a second time zone as functional.
This travellers’ instrument has two perfectly synchronised central hour hands. The first, which is associated with the minute hand, moves over a 12-hour dial. The second, with its red triangular tip, moves around a 24-hour scale. When the user is in his home country, the two hour hands move in a perfectly synchronized manner. This caliber has 47 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve in excess of 70 hours.
To adjust the 12-hour hand to local time, the user simply pulls the crown out to position 2 and turns it in either direction by the number of notches corresponding to the number of hours composing the time difference. The date display is indexed to this 12-hour hand and changes automatically if required, both backwards or forwards.
The 47mm watch comes in a stainless steel case and an AR-coated sapphire crystal. The watches all come with Superluminova hour and minute hands and hourmarkers. You can opt from a variety of dial colors which include Onyx black, Metallica or Blackeye blue, Blackeye grey, Sierra silver or Metallica brown.
Entirely made in Switzerland, the Chronomat GMT may be teamed with a choice of various straps and bracelets offering a variety of styles and uses: the classic touch of Barenia or crocodile leather, the sporty spirit of rubber straps, and the sturdy steel Pilot bracelet. The price on the Pilot bracelet is $9,470. Breitling Chronomat GMT to begin arriving at retailers in May/June.
