1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona
Even those who don’t know one Ferrari from another would probably know the Daytona from its starring role in many a film: A Star is Born, The Long Goodbye, Gone in 60 Seconds and many more, or from the Miami Vice TV series (although that was a replica). The wedge-shaped GT from the late 60s and early 70s was a clear separation from the bulbous models that proceeded it, and is today regarded as one of the definitive classic Ferraris of all time.
One of only 1.400 examples made, and only 158 in right-hand drive, this metallic blue 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona is set apart from the other 157 by its fate once arriving in the UK. Its first owner was HRH Charles, Prince of Wales, who only drove it for about a week before selling it. Recently you could see Chassis #16531 on the BBC’s ever-popular car show Top Gear where Richard Hammond drive it in a race from Portofino to Saint Tropez against James May in the XSR 48 powerboat.
One of the definitive classic Ferraris of all time this 365 GTB/4 has only 26.281 miles on the odometer and is really gorgeous with its shiny metallic blue, tan leather interior and Borrani wire wheels. The car is being auctioned by Historics at Brooklands and is expected to fetch around £180,000 – £210,000 ($288,500 – $336,600). [Historics at Brooklands]
