Exravagant £20,000 Dog Wedding
£20,000 ($32,500) to spend on the wedding of your pet?! Whether it is a huge love for the dog, or just madness associated with a lot of money, or both? Louise Harris, 32 from Essex was a generous when it comes to wedding of her beloved pooch, Lola.
Louise , invited 80 guests to the lavish ceremony to watch her Yorkshire terrier Lola tie the knot with Mugly, a Chinese Crested, who holds the title of the UK’s ugliest dog. Bride, Lola wore a £1,000 wedding dress at the ceremony in the grounds of a mansion in Essex, with the venue costing £2,500 alone. Along with her magnificent dress, Lola wore a £400 pearl necklace, £250 crystal leg cuffs and a Swarovski lead costing £350.
Louise Harris, who runs a dog boutique and grooming parlour in Essex called Diva Dogs, also spent £1,000 on flowers, £3,000 on designers to decorate the marquee, £400 on a wedding planner and £400 on security guards (might was afraid that someone will kidnap newlyweds). After the ceremony, both human and dog guests were treated to an over-the-top buffet of lavish chocolate fountains, cupcakes, fresh fruit, mini doughnuts and fudge.
Proud owner of the dog said afterwards I wanted Lola to have the perfect day. It was meant to only be a relatively small affair with 30 guests but the list just kept getting bigger and bigger because I didn’t want to leave anyone out! Just like most weddings I guess! The day was perfect from start to finish and Lola loved being the centre of attention all day. My dogs are my pride and joy so nothing is too good for them.
Louise launched a competition on Facebook to find a husband for Lola. Out of hundreds of entries she chose Mugly, who lives with owner Bev Nicholson, 47.
She said I must admit when I went to meet Bev and Mugly I really didn’t think Lola would like him. She if a bit of a diva and loves her clothes and jewellery so I did think she would go for a dog more like her. But they do say opposites attract and they happily play together all day. They seemed to really enjoy being together and had a lot of fun so I thought he was the perfect future husband for Lola.”
If £20,000 is the most expensive dogs wedding just in the UK, how much will be the world’s most expensive dogs wedding? What a crazy world! [Daily Mail]
