Richard Branson Became AirAsia Stewardess
Sir Richard Branson continues to surprise us. During celebrity flight between London and Kuala Lumpur on May 1, he will work as a stewardess in an sexy red AirAsia hostess uniform. But that’s not news, we already reported about that. The latest news is that the passengers will pay at least $650,000 for the honor to shave Branson’s legs.
The bidding will take place before the AirAsia flight leaves Stansted airport north of London, and the winner will be invited to shave Richard once he’s unveiled as an AirAsia flight attendant. A charity auction will be held at Putrajaya Marriott Hotel & Spa in Malaysia after the flight on May 2 as part of the same charity drive. Items on sale include personal items from the two airline magnates, as well as signed parts from a Team Lotus race car.
As an AirAsia flight attendant, Richard would have to comply to our grooming standards, and that includes shaving his legs. Rather than shave him myself, Richard and I thought we could have a bit of fun, engage with our guests and raise more money for charity if we opened up the opportunity to the highest bidder, Tony Fernandes, the AirAsia founder said.
Only one of 160 passengers will have the privilege to take a razor to shave Branson’s legs, but he, like others have to pay £4,500 (about $7,300) for the one-way ticket. But, well, it’s for charity!
