Emerald-cut 10.99 Carat Pink Damond Ring
Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels today’s sale in Geneva has passed in the sign of selling the two top items, Emerald-cut fancy pink diamond ring and Emerald and diamond tiara. Both items have been offered in the third session. LOT 491, very imoportant and Rare Fancy intense pink diamond ring was sold for CHF8.5 million ($9.6 million) ($10.8 million with buyer’s premium), while tiara was sold for a few minutes earlier for $12.76 million.
Expected price for 10.99 carats pink diamond which last came up for sale before 30 years, was between $9 million and $17 million. This stunning diamond, mounted as a ring, has been graded as fancy intense pink natural color and VS1 clarity by the GIA. Its a classic emerald cut, usually seen in white diamonds but extremely rare and sought after when it comes to colored diamonds.
At todays Sotheby’s auction next to this pink diamond ring and diamond tiara, also was a wide range of period jewels and creations signed by some of the world’s greatest jewelers: among them 50 jewels from Cartier, nearly 40 creations by Van Cleef and Arpels, and a group of jewels by JAR.
