Lexus LS600h Landaulet
Lexus automaker will create a special Landaulet version of the LS 600h as the official royal wedding car of Prince Albert of Monaco and Charlene Wittstock on the 2nd July. This special one-off Lexus Landaulet, is fitted with a one-piece transparent polycarbonate roof to allow guests to get a look at the couple during the event.
The challenging bodywork on the Landaulet was built by Belgian coachbuilder Carat Duchatelet in collaboration with Lexus. Apparently it took over 2,000 hours to complete and the Midnight Blue paintwork was applied by hand using water-based paints. The process included extensive computer-aided design calculations, simulations and 3D modelling, and involved stripping down about 20,000 mechanical parts, electronic components and interior features and upholstery.
The main duty for the Lexus LS 600h Landaulet on the big day will be transporting the royal couple on a tour of the Monte Carlo principality after the marriage ceremony. After the celebrations the car will be shown in the Oceanographic Museum in Monaco.
