Phantom 4D Bicycle is the latest collection collaboration between LDG (The Livery Design Gruppe’s) and Youth-lifestyle brand Hurley. They have celebrated launch of a limited edition of only five bikes at the VIP opening party of Nike’s new Salvation Malibu store on July 7, 2011.
The LDG & Hurley Phantom 4D is a collaboration Boardshort bike and is a capsule collection. The bike is beautifully hand painted by LDG’s Joshua P. Harris and is a perfect blend of innovation and art. Phantom 4D is based on the award-winning Phantom 4D project that was launched in June 2011 in response to increased performance demands. Incorporating Nike Flywire technology, Phantom 4D has a first-of-its-kind biomimic waistband as well as patented Phantom construction featuring 4-way recycled superstretch fabric, water repellency and second-skin movement.
The Hurley-commissioned artist James Marshall (aka Dalek) was in charge for the visual appearance of the entire project via his striking product visual – a geometric, multi-dimensional array of color. He also invited friends of the brand to showcase their own innovations through a Phantom 4D-inspired capsule collection — which includes a limited edition run of 500 Nike Air Max 90 sneakers, a limited-edition run of 50 Phantom 4D Skullcandy Headphones (using the same technology as their MixMaster Mike headphones), and this custom-created LDG fixed-gear bike. All three products feature Dalek’s Phantom 4D-inspired aesthetic punch. [LDG]
