Faberge has unveiled its first new collection of fine jewelry egg creations since 1917. The Les Fameux de Faberge collection of twelve one-of-a-kind couture egg pendants pay homage to the legendary Imperial Eggs created by Peter Carl Faberge for Russia’s imperial family, the Ramanov’s. Each of the twelve Faberge eggs is unique and based on a theme, inspired by an old Russian proverb: one for every month of the year.
Each egg is made of high quality and authentic gems and is adorned with exquisite diamonds. The main base material used in creating eggs is titanium that weighs less than a diamond, coated with 66.4 carats of intricately cut white diamonds of high clarity. Amongst the 12 eggs, the most expensive one is the Diaghilev Egg that is encrusted with diamond circles and rubies and costs $600,000.
This beautiful collection of eggs will be displayed at the Faberge boutique in Geneva from July 18 till August 21 and each egg will retail from $100,000 to $600,000.
Faberge is also launching Les Frissons de Faberge, fine jewelry egg pendants which feature around 60 different designs at lower price points. The first advertising campaign featuring the new egg pendants was shot in London on July 3, by Mario Testino, Carine Roitfeld and Katharina Flohr. [Faberge]
