The collaboration between fashion houses and automakers is a longstanding tradition. We love Fiat’s partnership with Gucci and the resulting Fiat 500 by Gucci born from it. Now its big brother Maserati is getting in on the action with the special edition Fendi GranCabrio, the droptop known as the GranTurismo Convertible in United States. Designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, the Maserati GranCabrio Fendi shows how two brands from Italy share common values such as craftsmanship and tradition.
Apart from the usual 4.7-litre V8, automatic transmission, and unmistakable exhaust note, this limited edition boasts a three-layer dark grey body color (Grigio Fiamma Fendi) with an iridescent gold surface finish, wood trim on the dash, doors, and gear lever, Fendi yellow on the brake calipers and trident headrest logos, and precious Cuoio Romano (Roman leather) on the instrument cluster cover.
In addition, the special edition GranCabrio also features a silver oval plaque on the dashboard, displaying the Maserati trident, the Fendi logo, and the five-digit series number. There’s also a special black car cover and to top everything off, there’s also a Limited Edition Travel Set of Fendi luggage and accessories
The individually-numbered special edition, well-appointed as it looks, is sure to be popular with the affluent boulevard cruiser set in locales ranging from Rodeo Drive to Monte Carlo. Further details including pricing, are likely to be revealed with the cars unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
