To mark its 30th year as the best-selling whisky in Scotland, The Famous Grouse has unveiled new blend created by Master Blender, Gordon Motion, presented in a limited edition Wade decanter. Containing whisky from the year in which The Famous Grouse became Scotland’s number one selling whisky and carefully selected whisky from subsequent years, the Famous Grouse Celebration Blend Decanter is the first special blend created by Gordon Motion since he assumed the role of Master Blender in 2009.
Made by world leading ceramic makers, Wade, the decanter features three unique illustrations of the iconic grouse taking flight, painted by the famous British wildlife artist, Rodger McPhail. McPhail has a long association with the brand having drawn the much loved red grouse which adorns every label of The Famous Grouse whisky. The Famous Grouse Master Blender Gordon Motion commented: The blend is a true celebration of The Famous Grouse, marking our 30th year as the best selling whisky in Scotland, the home of Scotch whisky.
The spirit itself is a dark gold liquid, with heather honey scent, and a mellow taste with a subtle smokiness.
With only 10,000 bottles available worldwide, distributed by Maxxium Travel Retail, The Famous Grouse Celebration Blend Decanter carries a suggested price of €99 ($142) or equivalent.
The Famous Grouse Celebration Blend Decanter will be exhibited at TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes from 19th to 23rd September 2011 on the Maxxium stand M53 in Green Village.
