On eBay, you can find really everything. American engineer, Casey Putsch, has put his car – replica version of 1989 Batmobile up for sale on eBay for $620,000. Casey spent five months and an undisclosed amount of money on this car, enjoyed in it only two months, and now he must sell it on eBay to pay some bills.
Casey said: I was a kid of the 80′s. I appreciate Batman and the Batmobile is the coolest car ever conceived. People have tried to recreate it but none have ever been turbine-powered as there are portrayed to be and I wanted to show what I could do as a builder.
This one-of-kind vehicle, Batmobile car was built by Casey Putsch at the Putsch Racing facility in Dublin, Ohio, and it’s powered by a 365-horsepower turbine engine from decommissioned military helicopter. The car boasts fibreglass and aluminum coachwork, digital avionics and centrally mounted touch-screen iPad with 3G. It also has an airhorn.
Casey added: Its construction is in a completely different league than both replicas and the movie prop cars, it’s street registered in the US and ready for immediate sale. It has a perfect reliability record and is ready to be enjoyed by an enthusiast who wants the ultimate in one-upmanship. I will simply remember it fondly and enjoy telling the stories, but it’s time to move on. I’m now planning to build a fuel efficient, recyclable supercar.
A replica of Batmobile, the car driven by Michael Keaton in 1989’s Batman, also won the People’s Choice Award at the Ault Park Concours d’Elegance and has been seen on various TV programs.
More than 100,000 people have viewed the advert on eBay with Casey saying there has been a lot of interest from serious buyers. The sale ends on Monday, September 5th, at about 3.30 pm PDT. [eBay]
