In an effort to promote their racing pedigree, the British automaker Lotus has revealed the new Evora S GP Edition.Featuring similar livery to the Lotus Renault GP F1 race car, the new special edition is based on the Evora S and has been confirmed for sale in North America.
Dressed in a black paint scheme with distinctive gold striping and red mirrors, the Evora S GP Edition also include gold colored alloys measuring in at 19 inches up front and 20 inches in the rear. In addition to its striking colors, the Evora S GP include the Premium Package, which offers mood lighting, a front armrest, better mats and leather, and the Technology Package, which offers Cruise, SatNav, Bluetooth, 7″ touchscreen and parking sensors. Lotus are also throwing in a rear view camera.
Like the standard model, power is provided by a supercharged 3.5-liter V6 engine with 350 PS (258 kW / 346 hp) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. This should enable it to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds (0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds) and hit a top speed of 172 mph (277 km/h).
If You think that the Evora S GP Edition is the start of a Lotus plan to boost sales (it’s only sold 274 cars in the UK this year), you’re wrong. Lotus are only going to build 3 Evora S GPs, and each will cost £69,950 which is nearly $110,000 based on current exchange rates.
Currently for sale one pieces lies with the showroom of Bell & Colvill in the UK for every car enthusiast to see and for a lucky buyer to take home.
However, if there are other limited editions of this car you are looking at, we suggest glancing over our coverage of the Freddie Mercury edition launched earlier this year.
