Bijan Pakzad died of a stroke at age 67 in April of this year but the fashion icon’s legacy for expensive fine automobiles to lure customers into his posh Bijan store on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills lives on. Bijan is in the automotive world perhaps best known for his customized yellow Bugatti Veyron, which he parked in front of his boutique. Deep down though, Bijan always had a passion for Rolls-Royces, having agreed to a partnership with the famed luxury car manufacturer to design and release a limited series of unique Rolls-Royce Phantoms. Unfortunately Bijan didn’t live to see his vision of a Rolls-Royce, but the unveiling of the Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe Bijan Edition would make him proud.
Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe Bijan Edition
Decked out in Bijan yellow from the body, including hood, window frame, mirrors and wheels to the interior, the special Drophead Coupe has Bijan signature touches all around, including a diamond-pavé watch embedded in the dashboard and a picnic set, complete with crystal stemware in the trunk. According to Rolls-Royce North America President David Archibald, there are 31 elements in this all-yellow edition that were requested by Bijan as part of the British automakers Bespoke program to personalize these fine cars.
While its easy to get mesmerized by the car, it’s also worth noting that this particular Phantom also carries a 6.75-liter V12 engine that produces in excess of 450 horsepower.
A limited quantity of Bijan Edition Rolls-Royce Drophead Coupe will be made available at a price reported between $850,000 and $1.6 million, and are sure to be snapped up by the same Middle Eastern sheikhs who draped themselves in Bijan’s luxurious suits. [Photo: Dirk A. Photography]
