Two days ago Neiman Marcus unveiled the 85th edition of its annual Christmas Book in Dallas. The 2011 Neiman Marcus Christmas Book features a selection of fantasy gifts that offer once-in-a-lifetime with nine fantasy gifts ranging in price from $5,000 to $1 million.
Among the selection of fantasy gifts in the 2011 Christmas Book are some remarkable items, including:
– “HIS & HERS” 2011 DANCING FOUNTAINS FROM WET for $1,000,000.
– NEIMAN MARCUS-EDITION HACKER-CRAFT SPEEDBOAT for $250,000.
– DAYTRIP TO STONE BARNS FARM for $9,500 and Luxury Weekend for two $20,000.
– ASSOULINE CUSTOM-BUILT LIBRARY for $125,000.
– INTERNATIONAL FLOWER SHOW TOUR, ARRANGED BY JETWAY PRIVATE AIR for $420,000.
– DREAM FOLLY beginning at $75,000.
– JOHNNIE WALKER® PRIVATE SCOTCH TASTING for $5,000.
– TOM BURR TABLE-TENNIS TABLE for $45,000.
– THE 2012 FERRARI FF, BESPOKE FOR NEIMAN MARCUS for $395,000.
Ginger Reeder, the vice president of corporate communications for Neiman Marcus, said that, yes, people really do buy these things. Most of them, anyway. The cars tend to sell out every year, she told. Otherwise, though, I’ve given up on guessing, exactly what will sell, and to whom. A suit of armor, for example, sold last year to a couple in Connecticut, who wanted it for their son, who traveled around to medieval fairs. I thought it would be a captain of industry, Reeder said.
Eight of the nine items on display will give some portions of their ticket price to charity.
