Montegrappa, Italy’s most revered manufacturer of fine writing instruments is all set to launch the new pen collection inspired and designed by company brand ambassador and world’s star Sylvester Stallone. Also legendary actor, filmmaker and writer has found an inspiration for the theme and design of his signature pen, aptly titled Chaos in his blockbuster film, The Expendables.
The body of the pen is made of black pearlised celluloid with overlays in sterling silver or solid 18K gold. The overlays are finished by hand by Montegrappa’s skilled craftsmen and feature an antiqued finish with accents in red and yellow translucent enamel to represent the colors of fire. The pen is engraved with the symbols of life and death as it has some reptiles that represent the early life on earth and skulls that signify death.
The Chaos pen is the first from the Cult collection. The pen has been intricately designed by the artisans by keeping even the minutest details in mind. Its design was cultivated by the works of 16th century artists including Battista Franco, Albrecht Durer, Hans Sebald Beham and Antonio Pollaiolo to create Mr. Stallone’s idea of Chaos; a sense of the Renaissance, when things were more simplified and perhaps more noble, placed against our current technological society.
The Montegrappa Chaos pen collection is available as a limited edition of 1,000 fountain pens and 912 roller balls in sterling silver, which represents Montegrappa’s 1912 date of establishment. Additionally, 100 fountain pens and 100 roller balls in solid 18K gold and 10 fountain pens and 10 roller balls in solid 18K gold with precious stones will be available for enthusiasts of both the screen legend and Montegrappa.
This exquisite collection will be on display during a special event held on November 9, 2011 at New York’s famed Club Macanudo. [Montegrappa]
