Rock & Pop Memorabilia auction is the first of three Popular Culture sales on offer in November. On November 15 at the Pop Culture: Rock and Pop Memorabilia auction in London, Christie‘s auction house will offer a range of instruments, clothing, posters, photographs and other ephemera once owned, worn, played or inscribed by International legends of the music industry.
BED PEACE executed by John Lennon
Most expensive memorabilia is lot 220 – placard signed by John Lennon (one of the most prominent, and almost certainly the most symbolic and emblematic placard, reading BED PEACE executed by John Lennon, at the historic Montreal Bed-In for Peace, 1969), estimated at $128,000 – $160,000. Following two most expensive: lot 119 – Live Aid Pete Townshend (a Roger Giffin/Schecter guitar), estimated at 48,000 – $80,000 and lot 221 – John Lennon’s Bag One, 1970 (full set of 15 lithographs all numbered 52/300, each signed by John Lennon and numbered in pencil), estimated at $24,000 – $32,000.

- black suit worn by the Sex Pistols’ Sid Vicious from 1978 (estimated at $16,000 – $24,000)
- black leather vest worn by Johnny Cash circa 1964-1969 (estimated at $3,200 – $4,800)
- wild velvet jacket worn by T. Rex’s Marc Bolan circa 1975-1977 (estimated at $8,000 – $11,200)
- Michael Jackson’s trademark fedoras from 1984 (estimated at $2,400 – $3,200)
