The premium electronics brand, Bang & Olufsen, has unveiled the BeoVision 7-40 3D HDTV that comes complete with a built-in Blu-ray player. The new BeoVision 7-40 uses two-sided edge-type LED backlighting with 1.5D local dimming, which improves the contrast level. What’s more, the screen also supports a maximum refresh rate of 240Hz and provides a 450 cd/m2 of brightness.
For viewing 3D images this has to be used together with active shutter glasses, and the 3DTV also features the so called VisionClear package of advanced video processing technologies that were designed to work together for improving the quality of the images displayed. Also, Bang & Olufsen has made sure that the TV’s 3D capabilities do not, in any way whatsoever, compromise on 2D viewing, giving that most viewers prefer watching television in 2D on a daily basis.
Additional features include a motorized stand, a built-in sensor which measures ambient light, a built-in digital surround sound module, a wide series of video inputs, and support for the Beo6 remote. The BeoVision 7-40 is currently available via authorized Bang & Olufsen dealers. [Bang & Olufsen]
