To commemorate the 150 years of a United Italy, Maserati Granturismo, which we earlier saw as Special Edition Maserati GranCabrio Fendi, has just been re-introduced as a S Limited Edition series. Unveiled at the Bologna Motor Show, with a limited edition of twelve cars intended for the Italian market, the Granturismo S Limited Edition is characterised by special trim levels and contents.
The most unique feature of this special edition car is the Sebring Blue paint finish, but it also comes with certain carbon fiber elements to make it stand out. Elements such as the front and rear spoilers, the side mirrors, and the door handles highlight the blue finish, while polished aluminum calipers, side skirts, headlights, and a new set of 20″ alloy wheels round out the exterior details of the special edition GranTurismo S.
The use of carbon fiber and aluminum is seen in plenty on the inside. A lot of smaller parts use the black carbon fiber is apparent on the trimming, which blends equally well with the alcantara leather upholstery of the seats. The main contrast will however be the aluminum pedals at the drivers console, and the 150 years logo of Italy’s Unification in the central console, marking the numbered edition of the car, and also the special occasion for which the car is made.
The power plant of the car has remained unchanged, which means that we get the same 4.7-liter V8 unit delivering 440 hp and pushing the car past the 62 mph mark in 4.9 seconds and onto a top speed of 183 mph.
