1962-64 Ferrari 250 GTO – $28.5 Million
In 2008 an anonymous English buyer bought a 1962-64 Ferrari 250 GTO at auction for a record $28.5 Million. After a track event involving historic cars, the owner rammed into the back of another car after traffic slowed down.
1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder – $10.9 Million
The record price for a 1961 250 GT California Spyder at auction was set on May 18, 2008 when a black one was sold for $10,894,900. The unnamed owner, stored the car near a Californian beach and it was wrecked in a hurricane.
1959 Ferrari 250 GT TDF – $1.65 Million
This extremely rare classic car, the $1.65 million 1959 Ferrari 250 GT Tour de France, crashed into a wall at the Shell Ferrari-Maserati Historic Challenge in 2003, at the infamous Lime Rock race track in, Connecticut, United States.
Ferrari Enzo – $1.5 Million
Swedish businessman Bo Stefan Fat Steven Erikkson took part in a car accident in 2006, when he lost control of his Ferrari Enzo, worth $ 1.5 million, at 196mph on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu and crashed into a pole. Eriksson claimed he had been a passenger in the Ferrari and that a German he knew only as Dietrich was driving the car, but had fled into the hills.
Jaguar XJ220 – $1.5 Million
The unnamed owner crashed $1.5 Million Jaguar XJ220 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the world’s biggest historic motorsport event. The front bonnet crumpled in the crash. The pictures shows the classic pose of the owner next to the car, dumbfounded by what he just did.
