Renee Zellweger recently listed her Connecticut Farmhouse for sale on the Pomfret Center real estate market for $1.5 million. The Oscar-winner bought the 1779 Colonial Pomfret property in 2004 for $1.32 million, and she has modernized the estate with many renovations including a stone pool and built in library.
The property is bordered by the Quinebaug River and is surrounded by lush gardens, fields and woods. The main residence with the 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, 4 fireplaces and dark wood-beamed ceilings and hardwood floors offers more than 3,400 square feet of living space. The grounds have also been extensively landscaped, with varying levels of terraces, gardens and stone walls. Other features include a guest cottage with its own kitchenette, recreation barn, entertainment pavilion, swimming pool and helicopter landing pad.
Socially, architecturally, and aesthetically, Pomfret is the embodiment of the old-fashioned American small town, while it is simultaneously a culturally rich and sophisticated community, the actress said in a press release.
The listing is held by Jonathan Radford of Coldwell Banker, who issued the following statement: Renee has enjoyed the property for a number of years, however her current work schedule and travel commitments do not allow her to visit the property as frequently as she would like.
Zellweger’s Connecticut home isn’t the only Northeast estate she owns. She also has a place in the New York beach getaway, the Hamptons, which she purchased in 2003. [The Real Estalker]
