Named after the grand boulevards in France, Esplanade’s complete range of bathroom furniture and ceramics by Duravit, features generous dimensions and soft forms that harken back to the 18th and 19th centuries when bathroom furnishings were still regarded as furniture. Paneled in oak veneers, which are combined with high-quality white porcelain and hand-stitched leather cabinet pulls, the various components look like actual pieces of furniture.
In collaboration with the German-Russian architect, Sergei Tchoban, the resulting complete bathroom range reinterprets opulence as the golden ratio between purism and so-called free forms and in the internalisation of both modern architectural trends. The clean, tailored silhouettes give this bathtub, toilet, bidet, cabinet and vanity a daily furniture look, while the contrast between white ceramic and dark wood is sharp with a good dose of drama.
The high quality, classically inspired pieces are available in Oak, a striking dark wood paneling and Silk, a particularly high-quality white varnish, with rich leather pulls. Prices range from $1,750 to $10,000 per component and is available on Duravit website.
