This Saturday, March 10 marks the 14th annual Amelia Island Sale, held in conjunction with the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance. Over 100 collector cars, nine vintage motorcycles and a complete Lalique mascot collection will be offered at the Ritz-Carlton during this prestigious event. Also on offer will be the ultimate treat for car aficionados—an afternoon ride and drive experience with Bugatti’s official test pilot and the Bugatti Grand Sport! Best of all, the proceeds from the ride and drive experience will benefit the Spina Bifida Association of Jacksonville, as will the proceeds from this beautiful Ferrari 250 GTO Bronze Sculpture.
Bugatti’s legendary engineering will also be on display with 1930 Bugatti Type 46 Superprofile Coupe, a remarkable feat of coachbuilding prowess. Other auction highlights include stunning one-off design statement by Count Alexis de Sakhnoffsky, the 1929 Cord L-29 Special Coupe. The 1934 Packard Twelve Convertible Victoria, with coachwork by Dietrich, Inc., is one of three known remaining examples, while the 1941 Chrysler Newport Dual Cowl Phaeton by LeBaron is one of only five built but is the only one to have paced the 1941 Indianapolis 500 race.
And, of course, there are some very exceptional Ferraris: a 1956 Ferrari 250 GT Coupe Speciale, one of only four examples produced and with Classiche certification and rare 410 Superamerica-style, Pinin Farina Berlinetta coachwork, as well as a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 Berlinetta with matching numbers. For fans of Aston Martin, there is DB5 Vantage with matching numbers and restored to award-winning standards, one of only seven originally produced, making it very rare. Another rarity is this 1937 Squire 1½-Liter Drophead Coupe, the only Squire bodied by English Corsica coachworks and a unique example of this ultra-rare British marque. Last but certainly not least, the 2002 Chevrolet Corvette Riley & Scott Racing Car that was the late Paul Newman’s 2003-2007 SCCA racer, in which he won his last race.
If you cannot attend sale, you can still catch all the auction excitement online!
